Une réflexion mérite d’être menée au vue de la performance de la presse, lors de la 7ème édition des Médiations press trophies vendredi 16 mai 2014 à Douala. Seulement six catégories primées sur dix en compétition.
Les membres du jury n’ont pas lésiné sur l’occasion. Composés d’enseignants et de personnalités de la presse camerounaises, ils ont dit leu amertume après les délibérations qui ont sanctionnées la 7ème édition des Méditations press trophies, cérémonie de récompense annuelle des journalistes organisée par le Club Médiation. Des travaux de piètres qualités, des journalistes qui ne savent pas toujours faire la différence entre une enquête et un reportage, de mauvais cadrages, qualité de langue médiocre…la liste des tares qui minent la presse camerounaise est longue.
En témoigne, la rareté des travaux de qualité. De tous les papiers soumis à la compétition, seuls six ont eu le mérite de retenir l’attention du Jury. Pourtant dix catégories étaient compétition. Les meilleurs de cette 7ème édition sont Christian Locka (Jade Cameroun), Charles Ngah Nforgang et le duo Josiane Kouagheu et Théodore Tchopa (le Jour). Ils ont respectivement reçu les prix du meilleur reportage presse écrite, meilleure enquête web et meilleure enquête presse écrite. Philomène Djuissi (Kalack Fm), Mireille Siapze (Stv) et Elthon Djeudja (Dbs) ont quant à eux, décroché les prix de meilleur reportage radio, meilleure magazine télé et meilleure reportage télé. Chacun des gagnants a reçu son prix et des cadeaux (ordinateurs potables, appareils photos numériques etc.)
Pas de gagnants dans les catégories, meilleur dessin de presse, meilleur site d’information en ligne, meilleure magazine radio et meilleur photo presse écrite. Et pour cause, travaux de mauvaises qualités. Portant la voix du jury en tant que président, Leger Ntiga a lancé un vibrant appel aux directeurs de publications et rédacteurs en chefs : «il faut qu’ils reprennent les rédactions en main. C’est grave. Il faut que les rédactions soient un peu plus sérieuses. Le niveau de langue est déplorable». Des propos appuyés par des barrons de la communication sociale comme, Dr Georges Madiba, président du département de communication à l’Université de Douala, Henriette Ekwe, Eloï Mbella Ndzana etc. qui ont composé ce jury.
Denis Nkwebo membre du Club médiation et Rédacteur-en-chef adjoint du quotidien Le Jour, a invité les journalistes à s’investir dans des travaux d’intérêt public. La présidente de l’association Marion Obam, satisfaite de cette édition, à juste invite les uns et autre à redoubler d’ardeur au travail grâce aux conseils des aînés. En face, des journalistes continuent de remettre en cause la crédibilité de cette compétition.
