Dans son adresse à la jeunesse le 10 février 2015, veille de la célébration de la 49ème édition de la fête de la jeunesse au Cameroun, le président a éludé plusieurs domaines de la vie nationale.
A quel destin est vouée une jeunesse sans culture ? Mieux sans repères ? Tout est concentré sur du béton, les grands projets et l’émergence du Cameroun à l’horizon 2035. Le président de la République l’a encore confirmé mardi dernier dans son discours à la jeunesse camerounaise. Une jeunesse en mal de repères pourtant. Il le constate d’ailleurs dans cet extrait : «Comment faire, me demanderiez-vous, quand il y a urgence, et que par nature, la jeunesse est impatiente ?». Une jeunesse impatiente qui veut tout et tout de suite. Pourquoi ? Allez y savoir ! «Notre pays ne cache pas ses ambitions dans les domaines agricole, minier, touristique, artistique, sportif et environnemental. L’artisanat et les petites entreprises occupent encore chez nous une grande place», déclare Paul Biya sans aucune précision. Des mots sans directions. Sur le plan culturel, on s’attendait à ce qu’il évoque la réouverture du Musée national qui est comme le réservoir de la culture du pays. Un projet cher au ministère des Arts et de la culture, ainsi qu’aux artistes et des générations de camerounais qui y viendront s’abreuver de leur histoire. Sur les questions de droits d’auteurs qui déchirent les artistes qui appellent à sa haute intervention, pas un mot. La politique a été la grande oubliée de ce discours à la jeunesse. C’est vrai qu’on n’est pas en année électorale, mais la jeunesse qui est très souvent utilisée comme du bétail électoral, mérite d’avoir des comptes. Notamment sur le Conseil Constitutionnel, le Conseil des régions etc. qui sont toujours attendus. C’était aussi le lieu de les inciter à davantage s’intéresser à la politique et à prendre en main le destin du pays. Parce que la jeunesse comme le Président a, coutume de le dire, est le fer de lance de la Nation. Parlant de tourisme, il peut être un secteur à grands revenus économiques pour le pays s’il bénéficie d’une bonne promotion et d’un bon entretien. Très peu de jeunes connaissent malheureusement ce beau pays. Nourrissant ainsi davantage le rêve américain. Sur la honte de trop imposée aux couleurs nationales récemment en Guinée Equatoriale par l’équipe nationale de football masculine, pas un mot non plus. Pourtant dans ces précédents discours, le président avait l’habitude de conseiller aux jeunes de suivre les pas de leurs aînés, les lions indomptables. Maintenant qu’ils ne sont plus des modèles, l’équipe féminine les supplée bien. En témoigne, leurs différentes réalisations : Vice championne d’Afrique et qualifiée au mondial féminin qui se dispute au Canada en juin prochain. Elles pouvaient bien aussi être citées comme modèles. Et dans plusieurs domaines aussi. Les résultats prouvent de plus en plus qu’elles sont les meilleures.
