C’était à l’occasion du bal de fin d’année offert, par les apprenants de cette école de danse ; vendredi 31 mai 2019 dans une des prestigieuses salles de cérémonie de la ville de Douala.
Comme par le passé, des invités triés sur le volet. Ils se recrutent parmi les parents d’élèves, curieux et autorités administratives de la capitale économique. Pendant des heures, les enfants de la Côtière, leur ont montré ce qu’ils ont appris depuis le début de l’année. Entre danses classique, hip-hop, danse contemporaine et africaine, les enfants suivant les classes (Marguerites, Mimosa, Orchidées, Rose, boutons d’or, paquerelles etc.), ont offert un show époustouflant aux invités de leur encadreur, Grâce Malin : «on a voulu rendre en danse ce que nous vivons aujourd’hui. Amener les gens à comprendre que le mal ou le bien ne peuvent se construire que par nous-mêmes et nous pouvons essayer de changer ce qui se passe actuellement», expliqe-t-elle. Les parents ne sont pas restés insensibles à cette belle prestation. «C’était une belle soirée. Ma fille exécutait des pas de danse magnifiques. Plus elle grandit, mieux, elle danse et je suis fière d’elle», confie Christiane, parent d’élève.
Un challenge que Grâce Malin tient depuis 18 ans déjà. Le délégué du gouvernement auprès de la communauté urbaine de Douala, Fritz Ntonè Ntonè le lui a bien rendu par sa présence à cette autre édition du bal de fin des élèves de l’école de danse la Côtière : «c’est déjà un partenariat entre la Cud et la Côtière. Nous sommes dans une ville qui a un peu de tout. Et l’art ou l’économie permettent aux citoyens de mieux s’épanouir». Cap désormais sur la 19ème édition.
